THE CROW AND THE PITCHER
A thirsty Crow found an old glass with some water in it, but there was so little that she could not reach it with her beak. It seemed she would soon die of thirst. She was sitting and desperately thinking. At last she had a clever plan and she began dropping pebbles into the glass. With each pebble the water got higher and higher until at last it was high enough for the happy Crow to drink. "Necessity is the mother of invention".
